We are a volunteer-led nonprofit organization that raises funds and supports volunteer efforts for three local California State Parks: Bothe-Napa Valley SP, Robert Louis Stevenson SP, and Bale Grist Mill SHP. The funding from our association supports maintenance, improvement projects, and outdoor education programs.

Spring Has Sprung in the Parks!

Spring is a perfect time to hit the trails! Wildflowers are blooming—including vibrant warrior’s plume (shown left), graceful Douglas iris (right), bright poppies, delicate shooting stars, golden buttercups, and carpets of miner’s lettuce. With fresh air, green grasses, new sprouts, and colorful views all around, it’s the perfect season to get outside and explore!

Pile Burning Complete—More to Come!

Last month, California State Parks and CAL FIRE LNU collaborated on pile burning operations at Bothe-Napa Valley State Park. Firefighters successfully burned over 200 debris piles as part of an ongoing fuels reduction effort, aimed at lowering wildfire risk and improving overall forest health. These burns have now concluded, but the work to maintain the park is never over.

You may have also seen the California Conservation Corps (CCC) out in the park—thanks to their hard work, additional piles have already been created for a future burn.

We’re incredibly grateful for the coordination, expertise, and dedication of all the partners involved in this effort!

Earth Day Napa

Join us for Earth Day Napa on Saturday, April 12 from 11 AM to 4 PM at Oxbow Commons! This fun, family-friendly event features live music, kids’ activities, local food and wine, and dozens of booths focused on sustainability and the environment. Stop by the Napa Valley State Parks Association booth to learn how you can get involved in protecting local open spaces and supporting outdoor education.

APRIL 12, 2025

Eco-Fitness Hike

Do you love fitness and the beautiful outdoors? Join fitness instructor Kerry Brackett for a great hike/workout through lovely Bothe State Park. This one-hour class will be held on the second Saturday of each month, starting a 9 a.m. As we hike through the redwoods, Kerry will offer a variety of exercises to work the whole body! She will finish with additional core exercises and stretches. This class will be complementary to NVSPA members and a $10 day-use/parking fee for non-members.

Pancake Breakfast

Join us for a favorite community tradition—our Annual Pancake Breakfast at Bale Grist Mill on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast of fluffy pancakes, sausage, and fresh fruit, surrounded by oak trees and beneath the great water wheel of the historic mill. It’s a perfect way to spend a spring morning with friends, neighbors, and fellow park supporters!

Nature Therapy

Join local health coach and author Dina Saalisi to explore the abundant life-force energy of Bothe State Park. In this lively, experiential event, Dina will lead guests through guided meditation, Haiku, and creative practices, to deepen our connection to the greater world around us. From the backdrop of this majestic place, we will use new lenses of awareness to engage with the plants and animals of the region. Bring an unlined journal and pen.

Art in Parks

Celebrate California State Parks Week with a day packed full of creativity and connection at Bothe-Napa Valley! Inspired by the Land: Art in Parks brings together local artists, makers, and the community for a vibrant celebration featuring pop-up exhibits, live demonstrations, a kids’ art zone, and hands-on workshops in a variety of mediums throughout the - photography, painting, calligraphy, knitting, and more! Calling all artists: exhibitor booth space is available to showcase or sell your creations.

Wellness Day

Take time to recharge at our Wellness Day, a celebration of movement, mindfulness, and nature connection. Enjoy guided hikes, yoga sessions, sound baths, and wellness workshops designed to nurture both body and mind. We’ll also have a mobile health clinic on site, community wellness booths, and healthy food options to round out your day of self-care at Bothe-Napa Valley State Park.

Prepare for an exciting online experience—the Napa Valley State Parks Association’s Online Auction!
